Sapele Closet Stand

This custom piece was built for a client looking for a way to hold a couple of pairs of shoes and hang pants and shirts.  The piece is built out of solid sapele and finished with a clear satin finish.  I was lucky enough to find mahogany dowels at the local lumber yard for reasonable price.  I was also fortunate to find two sapele boards from consecutive cuts from the stock allowing the grain pattern to match on both vertical pieces.  To get to 19 inches wide I had to hide a few biscuit joints in the linear grain.

Ortley Beach Cabinetry

I just completed a project for a house that was heavily damaged in the hurricane. The cabinets are all maple with maple face frames and panelized doors.  I added a few additional feature like soft close hardware, dovetailed joinery and cutting board that fits into one of the drawers.  Start to finish in just under a month.  I included a picture of the original 3D design and the final.
