Sapele Closet Stand

This custom piece was built for a client looking for a way to hold a couple of pairs of shoes and hang pants and shirts. The piece is built out of solid sapele and finished with a clear satin finish. I was lucky enough to find mahogany dowels at the local lumber yard for reasonable price. I was also fortunate to find two sapele boards from consecutive cuts from the stock allowing the grain pattern to match on both vertical pieces. To get to 19 inches wide I had to hide a few biscuit joints in the linear grain.
