Matching an Existing Cabinet Door

I got hired by a contractor friend to make a few duplicate doors from a kitchen they were renovating.  This is the first attempt at a project in the new garage which needs a lot of work to make effective.  While the door looks simple at first glance it had been made out of a laminate covered single piece of MDF and no tooling was available to directly duplicate the door. After some trial and error, new bit sets, and some patience I was able to make a very close approximation to the door that was provided.

The New Home Theater

One of the first projects that needed to be completed in the new house was the theater room.  The room is used primarily as a family space and is designed around watching Kansas win basketball games.  This time around I decided on a more finished look with custom wainscoting, sapele trim, and upgraded finishes. The room had to be gutted from 3 foot and down due to an issue from the previous owner damaging the sheetrock with a water leak and my need to ensure we would never have mold in the basement.  All materials from 6 inches and down are made from plastic trim.
